Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh protests that Israel should take the responsibility of starting a warfare in Gaza and killing their thought leaders

In the ongoing Israel-Gaza war, severe losses have been reported on both sides. At one end Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh says Israel should bear all the responsibility for the consequences after igniting fire and airstrike in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, and on the other hand, Israel continues to stay focused on its Guardian of the Walls operation in the Gaza Strip. It is noted that more than 188 Palestinians have lost their lives and hundreds of others have been wounded during the attack. This eight-day long confrontation going on, it has shattered the massive infrastructure of the Hamas group. It is an Islamic group that controls the Gaza Strip. They faced a strong blow to their leadership as several leaders were targeted and killed.

Meanwhile, Ismail Haniyeh, who is the chief of Hamas’ politburo has expressed his support to Gaza from Qatar. He attended a rally that supports Palestinians in their struggle against Israel. Currently, he is taking refuge in Doha, as he is being held there due to an Egyptian decision of not letting him back into the Strip after he attended the funeral of Qasem Suleimani. Qasem is a top Iranian commander who was killed in an American strike in January last year.

During a festival attended by 10,000 people of different nationalities, Haniyeh vowed that he will liberate all Palestine's’ from the clutches of Israel and will keep fighting until Israel lifted its hands from Jerusalem and returned the Al Aqsa mosque. That holiness of the mosque is really important as Islam considers it as the third most holy site in the world. His words and expressions were not surprising by Dr Anat Berko. She is a known name in the Israeli criminologist community as she is an expert on terror groups. Being familiar with the ideology of Hamas and having interviewed dozens of its people who are willing to be bombers in Israeli jails, she explained she is used to the venom gushed by such extremist groups. She even questions the fact that Qatar was providing a stage to Haniyeh at a time of confrontation when he has claimed the lives of ten Israelis as disturbing.
